Thanksgiving Swap: Marcus



“Oh God, what the hell has she done now?” Marcus thought, his mind racing to explain what he was seeing in front of him.


Staring face to face with his own daughter in the mirror, Marcus’s first thought was that some kind of freaky friday-like event had swapped his mind with Anaya’s in order to teach each other more about empathy or whatever that movie was about - The two had been at odds with each other ever since Shayne had come home from college for Thanksgiving break, bickering like usual over her choice of clothes, her falling grades, and the fact that she seemed more interested in planning events with her sorority than going to class consistently. Their latest argument had been over the outfit she had picked out for Thanksgiving dinner, something he had deemed way too revealing for a family event and all but forced her upstairs to change while he busied himself setting out the food for the rest of the guests.


He paced back and forth for a few more minutes, working up the courage to go find Anaya, apologize for his latest outburst, and figure out what was going on until the growing commotion from downstairs tipped him off that whatever had just happened had affected a lot more than just his father-daughter relationship!
