Babysitting his own kid

“Dad! Kate is here!” Sam shouted, opening the door and walking away before Charlie even had a chance to say a word to his son. 

Charlie stopped in his tracks. He had rushed over to his house without even thinking about what he was going to say, but as he looked down the hall, whatever words he did have froze in the back of his throat. He saw his own body walk down the stairs with a smile. “Kate! you’re early, why don’t you sit down, i’ll make you a coffee before i head out.”

“Listen, i don’t know how you managed to steal my body,” he hissed in a low whisper, looking over his shoulder to make sure his son had left the room. “But you’re going to give it back. Now. Or-“

“-Or what?” She interjected, smiling. “You have no plan, no proof, you don’t even know how I did it. So let me tell you how this is going to work. One: You’re not Charlie Daniels anymore. You’re just the girl that babysits his kids. Two: This swap is permanent, for you at least, so you can get used to being in my old body, you’re gonna be here for a while. And three: If you play nice, I’ll play nice. I might have your body and your money now, but there’s no reason we can’t still have a good working relationship, right? You help me live your life, I might even be willing to cut you in on a little of your family fortune you’ve so kindly let me have!”

“You can’t do this. I have a kid, a life, you can’t just separate me from him like that” Charlie said quietly, the reality of his situation starting to sink in on him.

“Don’t worry, “Kate”, I won’t fire you or anything. I’m not evil - In fact, you’ll probably be spending more time than ever with your son now that you’re his babysitter. Look at the bright side! She smiled, clearly relishing her new power over him. “That is, as long as our little secret stays secret. Not that they’d believe you anyways, but if i even get a hint that you’re acting like anyone but Kate Smith, the babysitter I hired to watch the kid while i’m out enjoying my hard earned money? I’m cutting you off. The pay is good and i’m sure there are a dozen other teen girls in the neighborhood just like you who would jump at the chance to earn a little extra cash. Now, i’ll be back late today, make sure the kid’s in bed by 9, ok? Thanks!”
