As Paul slipped into the back seat of the Uber, he took one last look at his mom in the doorway and waved goodbye.

“Don’t worry, it’s just a couple of days, i’ll be back from the scholarship conference before you know it!” He shouted as the car pulled away, leaving his house behind.
